2 Days: Cairo and Alexandra from Luxor by flight

Your Pharaohs Land Tours representative will pick you up from your hotel in Luxor and transfer you to Luxor International Airport for your flight to Cairo. Upon arrival, our representative will meet you with your professional Egyptologist guide, who will accompany you throughout the day’s sightseeing.

To begin, explore the legendary Pyramids of Cheops, Chephren, and Mykerinus, where you can admire some of Egypt’s most iconic ancient monuments. From there, continue to the Great Sphinx, featuring the head of a pharaoh and the body of a lion. In addition, the visit includes the Valley Temple, an important part of the Giza pyramid complex.

After exploring Giza, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant in Cairo. Following lunch, continue to the Egyptian Museum, home to an extensive collection of artifacts spanning thousands of years of Egyptian history. Among its highlights are royal artifacts, ancient jewelry, and the renowned collection of King Tutankhamun.

Later, discover the cultural heritage of Coptic Cairo with visits to the Hanging Church and Ben Ezra Synagogue. Meanwhile, your guide will introduce you to the area’s rich Christian and Jewish history. The journey then continues to Islamic Cairo, where you can experience the historic atmosphere of Khan El Khalili. Finally, explore its traditional shops, narrow streets, and local cafés before returning to your hotel.

The journey begins with Pompey’s Pillar, a remarkable Roman monument built in honor of Emperor Diocletian during the 4th century. Originally associated with the ancient Temple of Serapis, this impressive column remains one of Alexandria’s most recognizable historical landmarks.

The tour then continues to the Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa, an extensive Roman-era cemetery carved into the rock. Spread across three levels, the complex showcases a fascinating combination of Egyptian, Greek, and Roman architectural traditions.

After exploring the catacombs, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant in Alexandria. Following the meal, visit the Qaitbay Citadel, which was constructed on the site traditionally linked to the ancient Lighthouse of Alexandria. The fortress also provides beautiful views of the Mediterranean Sea.

Another highlight of the day is the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, a modern cultural landmark that pays tribute to the city’s legendary ancient library. Later, return to Cairo Airport for your flight to Luxor. Once you arrive, our representative will meet you and arrange a comfortable transfer to your hotel in Luxor.
